Man of the Moment: Jason Segel

So I have a confession to make.....
I have a huge megacrush on Jason Segel.

I just got into "How I Met Your Mother" earlier this year which planted the seeds of my secret Jason Segel crush... but now I like him even more because he loves MUPPETS!

I read an article in the Huffington Post interviewing him on the new Muppet Movie... They asked him if he really burst out crying when he first heard Kermit speak at a read-through of the script.... he said:

"I did. It wasn't like a burst-out kind of crying; it was much more embarrassing than that. It was like the slow cry where you're trying super hard not to let anyone know you're about to cry so you're pursing your lips but they're quivering, and next thing I knew there were tears streaming down my face and there was nothing I could do to hide it...We took like a five minute break. What was worse was I was one of the producers of the movie; I'm kind of supposed to be the boss. People were looking at me like, "Is he going to do this the whole time?"

The key to my heart, Jason Segel...... is Muppets.
Bravo.
You are such a man.

You know... just brushin' his teeth with a Muppet...

SURROUNDED by muppets!

Lily and Marshall :)

D'awww he's so handsome :)

A Kermie and Jim Henson for good measure :)

Making Spirits Bright

What Christmas means to me....
Soaking up time with friends, family, and fluffy dogs,
Doing LOTS of crafting,
Baking delicious things,
Eating delicious things,
Going to the candlelight service at Fellowship,
Watching favorite Christmas Movies (White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Muppets, etc...)

Looking forward to 2012 and wishing you a Happy Christmas!

Christmas means The Muppets!! This is literally my favorite version of A Christmas Carol... so magical!

Hey... santa looks like he's riding my bike! :)

"..aaand dance by the light of the moon!"

a plethora of crafting!

When I was home I did SO much crafting! It was absolutely lovely. I got the idea to do this first project from a sweet blog called Elm Street Life! I've wanted to do this for awhile... she has a great tutorial for how to make perfect letters on cute signs like this.

I just made it from a scrap piece of wood I found in the garage, I was so proud! I put it by this sweet photo of my grandparents during Thanksgiving... D'awww :)

Next I made this...

....from another piece of wood I found in my garage and scrapbooking paper that I mod-podged on there (and a doily!). Then I painted a clear finish over it to seal the deal. I am going to put cute little drawer pulls across the bottom and make it a hanger for scarves or purses!

then I made this!
I had this really cool art print from the 60's that I bought in Birmingham, and I wanted to do something cool with it that I could hang in my house!
A lot of trial and error with a canvas I found lying around, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

First I cut it to fit the canvas and wrapped it like a present....

here's a pic of the art print on the canvas..... and then on the right, I nailed two small nails onto the sides...

I connected the two nails with embroidery floss, added a sweet fabric heart, and used it as a sort of clothesline for some beautiful old pictures of my grandma and grandpa :)
I could totally make some "family tree" puns right now....

aren't they cute??

I had way too much fun with these!
...can't I just major in crafting?

Colder Weather

It has started getting cold, and I am LOVING it! All I have wanted to do lately is snuggle in my little room, turn on my twinkly lights, and nestle down to knit and drink some tea! I am counting down the days until I go home for Thanksgiving... it will be so lovely to have almost a whole week with my family to cook and craft and and laugh with old friends.

This is pretty much all I want to do right now....

                                                                              This.

While drinking this.

While being serenaded by SONDRE! ...ok, maybe that's a little unrealistic....

Happy colder weather, everyone :)

Happy Camper!

I did so many new things the past few days! To start the week off right..... I went camping. Yep. This kid. Contrary to popular belief, I indeed own a sufficiently janky pair of tennis shoes that come out on occasion to mow the lawn.

I sang Kumbaya.
I roasted stuff over an open flame.
I slept in a tent.
I pet a lamb.
I wore tennis shoes in Kroger.

A definite (yet successful!) departure from my usual evenings spent knitting and identifying with Liz Lemon.

Here's one of me... "GUYS you have to get one of me with the flaming marshmallow or NO ONE will believe me!"

In the morning we were greeted by a herd of cows who we happily serenaded.

This weekend I also had a lovely thrift store excursion where I bought a wonderful old pipe and a leather purse for such a steal! I will post more on this later :)

Happy Wednesday to everyone!

Hey Buddy.

I am on such a Buddy Holly kick right now! I thought as I sit and listen to him I would share with you a short photo homage to the bespectacled crooner.... :)

Rocking the specs like a champ. Gotta love him.

....all that and wearing a sweater, too!

Well hello there! He's just happy about life.

It takes a true man to wear a fur.

Rave On, Buddy.

Happy Friday.

Beachy Keen

Enjoying our over-priced gelato....

visiting our favorite bookstore, Sundog Books!

Our purses really enjoyed sitting the garden.

.....having a spot of tea with a pair of lovely rabbits.....

A glimpse of the several lovely days I spent in Seaside, Florida with my dear friend Lauren before the craziness of a new school year! Reading, ice cream, friends, smoked tuna dip.... it was a perfect ending to a wonderful summer :)
